Easy goes

The Monterey Bay area has one of the best, most scenic networks of easy walking paths. It’s a great way to connect, breathe fresh air and exercise. All are easy, mostly level paths, many are wheelchair accessible.

Arana Gulch Santa Cruz Eastside near the Yacht Harbor
Scenic overlooks and interpretive displays, 34-acre Coastal Prairie/Tarplant Management Area, multi-use trails and a pedestrian loop trail. 90% not accessible and protected.

Monterey Bay Coastal Trail Castroville to Pacific Grove
18 miles of scenic, car-free paved paths for walking and biking. Dogs on short leash OK and pick up after them.

Redwood Grove Loop Felton
Inside Henry Cowell Park, <1 mile path through old-growth redwood trees.

San Lorenzo River Walk Downtown Santa Cruz
Paved walk or bike path from Highway 1, through Downtown to the Boardwalk, ~3-1/2 miles.

Seacliff Beach to Platforms Beach Aptos
Access from Seacliff Beach or Rio Del Mar Beach. Paved walkway runs from the end of Seacliff to the end of Rio Del Mar, ~ 3-miles.

Seascape Park Aptos
Short walking trail on the bluffs above Seascape. End of Sumner Ave. past the resort.

Watsonville Wetlands Watsonville
Walking paths around the sloughs, maps and directions.

West Cliff Drive Santa Cruz Westside
Spectacular ocean side path, ~2-1/2 miles.
