Monterey Greek Festival
Be Greek for the weekend! Every Labor Day weekend, Monterey becomes a part of the Mediterranean as the Monterey Bay Greek Festival takes over Custom House Plaza, Monterey State Historic Park in downtown Monterey. You won’t want to miss traditional Greek food, munch on dolmades, watch traditional dance, listen to music, sip a cup of Greek coffee and have the ever-popular desert, baklava. The festival runs Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 6pm and Monday from 11am to 4pm. General admission is free.

UCSC Farm & Garden Tour
Perched above Monterey Bay on the UC Santa Cruz campus, the Farm and Garden offer thriving examples of organic agriculture and horticulture on both a hand-worked garden scale and medium-sized, tractor-worked farm scale. During tours, visitors can see first-hand how to build fertile soil and control pests, recycle yard and kitchen waste, conserve water, and encourage biodiversity. You’ll also learn about the latest research and education projects taking place at the sites. 2pm to 3:30pm. No reservations necessary; meet at the Louise Cain Gatehouse, just inside the UCSC Farm’s entrance.
