Know before you buy

The Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch® program helps consumers and businesses choose seafood that’s caught or farmed in ways that support healthy oceans, now and for future generations.

They offer an online search tool and publish printed guides with recommendations that indicate which seafood items are “Best Choices” or “Good Alternatives,” and which ones you should “Avoid.”

Whether at a restaurant or in your grocery store, ask the question: “Do you sell sustainable seafood?” Businesses take requests from their customers seriously, so each time you ask, your voice helps shape the practices of the entire seafood industry.

Why we ❤ it—You’ll be informed.
