Monterey Bay

Aim for zero waste — Sending nothing to landfill is in our future.

If everyone in the Monterey Bay area kept just a 1/2 pound of material out of the trash bin this week, that’s more than 175 tons of trash!

  • Buy “naked” products—no packaging
  • Compost leftover food
  • Don’t buy or use “disposables”
  • Up-cycle or donate
  • Sort and recycle more
  • If you don’t know how to get rid of it, don’t buy it!

Use it up
Make it last
Make do
Or do without!

Recycling Resources
Recycle your plastic waste. If its not recyclable, don’t buy it. If you’re not sure what is recyclable check Earth911 directory, GreenWaste Recycle Guide for Santa Cruz County, or Monterey County Recycle Guide.
